Gideon Mensah, a graduate of KNUST with a degree in Materials Engineering hails from Shama in the Western Region of Ghana. He is an enthusiast of building technology projects and inspired by inventions.
In an interview with 12framesonline.com reporter Dela Akafia, Gideon declares what motivates him in this statement “I love mechanics.
Seeing devices or machines working really fascinates me. To have control over my own, I always desire to invent mine. This drive is what made me start building my robots and I have not regretted ever doing so.”
In his engineering career, he said it is a collective thing and he is really inspired by inventors and what excites him is to really look up to inventors in the field of biology and physics.
Gideon is currently working on a robot that will help our weak patients that stay in the house alone. It is more of a robot companion and a helper in the absence of humans. “The robot is connected online which stores information gotten from the user, and his or her doctor can monitor their condition using that information like (pulse, temperature, and so on). It has alerts for emergency situations like fire outbreak, power outages, and breakages say’s, Gideon.
He describes himself as a person who can use all day to think through ideas and fantasize about them and plan how to execute the projects.
When asked what he cherishes most he said, “I love to make calls and work simultaneously. I sometimes watch action/tech films/ YouTube videos tech based.”
His favorite quote in life is “With God all things are possible”.
Its silly sometimes and also childish but it pays when the output is successful.”
Gideon has worked on a couple of projects including a rotating robotic logo of the Ghana Manufacturing Awards and also a 3D programmed robot that displays the advert of sponsors as well as updates of the ongoing event.
