Film Making in Ghana in recent times has been at a slow pace owing to the fact that pivotal industry players such as crew members are not being recognized for the part they play in filming and producing movies as well as marketing them.
It is for these reasons that the Film Crew Association of Ghana (FICAG), an organization which has been in existence for a decade decided to Rebrand the organization with a new logo and a launch under the Theme PROMOTING, PROTECTING, AND DEVELOPING OUR PROFESSION AS FILMMAKERS.
Invited guests who made it to the Press launch included the Deputy Minister of Art, Culture and Tourism Dr. Ziblim Barri Iddi who elaborated the need to build a film village as requested by the industry as well as supporting the film industry to grow and develop deep roots in the nation geared towards becoming a global franchise.
The President of FICAG, Mr. Samuel Gyandoh in an interview with Jerry Wonder on 12FramesTv explained why it is necessary to pass the Film law which will safeguard the works of the individuals in the association.
