The La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Tuesday successfully organized a high-impact capacity building conference aimed at enhancing the knowledge, professionalism, and operational efficiency of its staff.

The conference brought together distinguished officials of the Directorate, including the Municipal Director, Mr. Anane Adjeigah; Deputy Director in charge of Administration, Mr. Charles Kojo Mortey; Deputy Director in charge of Technical, Mr. Justice Tengey; Deputy Director in charge of Operations, Mr. Benjamin Apongsah; and Deputy Director in charge of Volunteers, Mr. Cephas Wenyornu.

In his address, the Municipal Director, Mr. Anane Adjeigah, underscored the critical importance of continuous training, discipline, and preparedness in disaster management. He encouraged the officers to remain committed to excellence, emphasizing that professionalism and dedication are essential in safeguarding lives and property within the municipality.

Mr. Charles Kojo Mortey, Deputy Director for Administration, urged the staff to uphold integrity, teamwork, and accountability in the discharge of their duties. According to him, unity and mutual respect within the institution remain vital pillars for achieving organizational success and effective service delivery.

Speaking on operational readiness and emergency response, Mr. Justice Tengey challenged the officers to continuously sharpen their technical skills and adopt proactive measures in addressing disaster-related situations. He stressed that competence, vigilance, and innovation are necessary for efficient disaster prevention and response.

Deputy Director for Operations, Mr. Benjamin Apongsah, also highlighted the importance of coordination, rapid response, and unwavering commitment to duty, while Deputy Director for Volunteers, Mr. Cephas Wenyornu, commended the immense contributions of volunteers and called for stronger collaboration between officers and community volunteers to strengthen disaster preparedness at the grassroots level.

The conference further featured impactful presentations from distinguished resource persons, Alhaji Mohammed A. Tchafaram of the CDCO Inspectorate Department at NADMO Headquarters and Mr. Winfred Tesia, former Director of Operations at NADMO Headquarters. Their insightful presentations inspired participants with practical lessons on leadership, communication, personal development, discipline, and selfless service to humanity.

Representing the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Faila, Mr. Stephen Billy-Blay reaffirmed the Assembly’s unwavering support for NADMO and applauded the staff for their sacrifices, resilience, and dedication to protecting lives and property.

He encouraged officers to remain steadfast and committed to their responsibilities even when their efforts go unnoticed, assuring them that hard work, loyalty, and genuine service to humanity would always receive the recognition and reward they deserve.
