The UniMAC Institute of Film & Television (IFT) is set to come alive tomorrow as alumni, students, lecturers, and industry professionals converge for the much-anticipated Alumni Homecoming 2026, under the leadership of Dr. Mary Ayim-Segbefia, Head of Department for Radio and Television Production.
Scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2026, at IFT Studio 3, Cantonments, the event is expected to serve as a powerful platform for networking, mentorship, professional development, and the celebration of the institution’s enduring contribution to Ghana’s media and creative industries.
Held under the theme, “Beyond the Mic & Screen: Mentorship, Creativity & Media Entrepreneurship,” the seminar will bring together some of the brightest minds and accomplished personalities who have passed through the halls of the Institute, creating an opportunity for meaningful engagement between past and present generations of media practitioners.

Dr. Mary Ayim-Segbefia, who has been instrumental in shaping and nurturing future media professionals through her leadership at the Department of Radio and Television Production, will host the gathering alongside a distinguished team of faculty members. They include Mr. Daniel Semordzi, Mr. Gabriel Kottey, Mr. Franklin Adzortor, Ms. Cecelia Avorkliyah, Mr. Prince Kumado, Mr. Manasseh Darko, and several other respected lecturers and media professionals whose contributions continue to strengthen the Institute’s reputation for excellence.

The event is also expected to witness the participation of several alumni year groups who have played significant roles in Ghana’s media landscape over the years. Among them is the pioneering 1999 year group, led by renowned media practitioner Dr. Baba Haruna, as well as the vibrant 2013 year group under the leadership of Mr. Eyram Evans Adorkor. Their presence is expected to enrich discussions and inspire current students with practical insights drawn from years of professional experience.
Dr. Ayim-Segbefia described this year’s homecoming as more than just a reunion, emphasizing that it is a strategic engagement designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, foster mentorship opportunities, nurture creativity, and empower participants to explore entrepreneurship within the evolving media landscape.

Many participants will engage in thought-provoking discussions focused on emerging trends in broadcasting, content creation, digital storytelling, media innovation, and business opportunities within the creative sector. The event will also provide an avenue for alumni to reconnect with former classmates and lecturers while strengthening the bonds that continue to define the UniMAC-IFT family.

As anticipation builds ahead of tomorrow’s gathering, members of the Institute’s community remain confident that Alumni Homecoming 2026 will leave a lasting impact, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to producing media professionals who are innovative, entrepreneurial, and ready to lead in an increasingly competitive global industry.
The UniMAC Institute of Film & Television warmly welcomes all alumni home for what promises to be an inspiring and memorable celebration of excellence, mentorship, creativity, and opportunity as the Institute embarks on a journey that goes beyond the mic, beyond the screen, and beyond limits.
