Ghana achieved a remarkable milestone at the African Union elections in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with all three of its candidates winning key positions on the continental stage. The announcement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in an official statement on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

This outstanding achievement positioned Ghana as the only country to secure a 100% success rate in the elections—a feat that Ablakwa hailed as a moment of immense national pride.

The elected Ghanaian representatives include:

Ambassador Jane Gasu Aheto, secured a seat on the African Union Commission on International Law (AUCIL).
Lawyer Kwami Edem Senanu, was re-elected to serve on the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption (AUABC).
Ambassador Amma A. Twum-Amoah, whose emphatic victory earned her the position of AU Commissioner.
In his statement, Hon. Ablakwa extended heartfelt congratulations to the three winners and praised the collective efforts of Ghana’s campaign team, the country’s Mission in Addis Ababa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and President John Mahama for their unwavering support.

“The Black Star rises again! For God and Country,” he declared, emphasizing the significance of the victories for Ghana’s international standing.
