In a concerted effort to promote environmental cleanliness, the BuzStopBoys teamed up with the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Mrs. Linda Ocloo, and key security agencies to embark on a massive clean-up exercise in Madina on Friday as part of the National Sanitation Day initiative.

The exercise saw the active participation of the Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service, and the Ghana Fire Service, alongside local authorities and residents. Volunteers worked together to sweep streets, desilt gutters, and properly dispose of waste, reinforcing the need for a clean and healthy environment.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Kojo Sarfo, the visionary founder of BuzStopBoys, shared his long-term vision for sustaining the sanitation culture in Ghana. In an interview with Dela Akafia of 12framesonline.com, he emphasized that the group’s collaboration with key stakeholders is a strategic effort to ensure a cleaner nation.

“Our goal is not just to clean up today and leave, but to inspire a movement where keeping our environment clean becomes second nature to every Ghanaian,” Kojo Sarfo stated.

Also, speaking to one of the key members of BuzStopBoys, L.A.C Yaahya Sulaiman, a military officer from Burma Camp, he expressed his excitement about being part of the initiative. He revealed that he joined BuzStopBoys after seeing a viral video of them conducting a massive cleanup in Accra.

“I couldn’t contain my joy seeing young guys and ladies helping clean Ghana without me being a part of it. It has always been my passion to assist in cleaning up the nation, and this is the time to make it happen,” he elaborated.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Mrs. Linda Ocloo, commended the collaborative efforts of all participating organizations, stressing that sanitation should be a collective responsibility rather than a one-day event. She urged residents to adopt proper waste management practices to help sustain the impact of such exercises.

With the continued involvement of both community-driven groups and state security agencies, National Sanitation Day remains a vital initiative in Ghana’s fight against poor sanitation.
