La-Nkwantanang-Madina Assembly Members Unanimously Confirm Hon. Alhaji Fuseini Faila as MCE with 100% Vote

Yesterday, May 5, 2025, In a historic and unanimous decision, the Assembly Members of the La-Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly have confirmed Hon. Alhaji Fuseini Faila as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). The confirmation, which concluded with a 100% endorsement, marks a significant milestone in Hon. Faila’s longstanding political career.

Hon. Alhaji Fuseini Faila brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served diligently as an Assembly Member for La Nkwantanang for an impressive 16 years. He later rose to become the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Madina Constituency. His political journey, which began in the early 1990s has been defined by resilience, commitment, and a deep connection to grassroots development.

The confirmation process initially saw 13 votes in favor and 7 against, falling short of the two-thirds majority required by law. As a result, the Electoral Commission, which was supervising the exercise, called for a rerun. In the subsequent round, Hon. Faila received a full endorsement from all 20 eligible voters, including elected Assembly Members and government appointees, securing the mandate with a resounding 100% vote.

The confirmation ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ocloo, who commended the Assembly Members for their unity and dedication to good governance. She praised their collective effort in supporting the President’s nominee and ensuring a smooth democratic process.

Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu, also graced the occasion and lauded Hon. Faila for his unwavering dedication to community development over the years. He pledged his full support for the new MCE, assuring constituents that he would collaborate closely with him to accelerate development in Madina under the visionary leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and his running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Alhaji Fuseini Faila expressed profound gratitude for the confidence reposed in him. He vowed to serve with integrity, transparency, and a renewed sense of purpose. “I will leave no stone unturned in delivering on our collective vision for a prosperous Madina. The trust you’ve placed in me will not be taken for granted,” he declared.

The event turned into a celebration of political unity and victory, with jubilant party faithful, Assembly Members, and supporters gathered to cheer their new MCE. Newly elected Presiding Member Hon. Razak Cisse and prominent groups, including the Premier Ladies, White Chapel Security Team, and several sympathizers, joined the festivities in full display of solidarity.

Among the notable guests were traditional leaders such as the Chief of Danfa, Torgbi Bossu, and Danfa Youth Chief Nii Gbetse, whose presence underscored the broad-based support Hon. Faila enjoys within the municipality.
